About Me

Welcome,

My name is Marissa Rosenberg and this is a picture of me that was taken a long time ago - we're not talking decades but it's getting close.  I don't look tired in the picture, so you can tell it was taken before kids.  As you can see, even back then I loved food!  The people in the photographs below are my family.  They are my happiness and I LOVE to cook and bake for them.  They are, in order of appearance, my 5 year old son Mason, my 2 year old daughter Gabrielle, my husband Jake, and our sweet pooch, L.T.

When I was young, I loved to cook with my Mom and both Grandmothers and I learned a lot in the process.  However, when I became a Mom, I took my love for cooking and baking to a new level.  I found so much joy in making my family healthy meals and introducing them to new foods.  Having a delicious home made dinner with my family became one of my favorite activities.  However, in the summer of 2010, I was thrown a curve ball.

My son was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. After I was educated and reassured that he was going to be fine, my first thought was: how can I make all of Mason's favorite foods gluten free?!

After extensive practicing and experimenting, and a lot of hard work, I have had tremendous success in preparing delicious gluten free foods.  Everything I make is allergy aware and I try to offer suggestions for substitutions in my recipes.  I love the idea of everyone (even those with food allergies) being able to eat the same meal at the same table.

My favorite family time is still at the kitchen table- only now, it's gluten free and, in my opinion, better than before!  In the future, I hope we are able to find gluten free options in all restaurants, cafés and food stands, and I hope this blog inspires you to find joy in cooking delicious meals for you and your family!

Some other facts about me that you will probably see throughout the blog are:
1. I love France, especially Paris, and I am obsessed with speaking fluent French.  Slowly but surely, I'll get there.

2. I love fashion.  An ideal (and rare) morning for me is drinking a great cup of coffee on the sofa while leisurely flipping through Vogue magazine.

3. I love to play chess, tennis, guitar and I also love to read.  Out of the four, reading is the only one I've had much success with!

4. Finally, I love to get your comments and constructive feedback, so please let me know your thoughts about the recipes.

Thank you!
